Back in the day, learning was very passive in nature. You signed up for a course, showed up in the classroom and the lecture began. For those of you who may not have had the experience of a true lecture, take a moment and watch this short video. I think it provides an excellent example of passive learning:
Great! I suspect you could just feel the energy in that classroom, right? As time passed, e-Learning made its initial appearance on the scene. During the early years, e-Learning involved digitizing text from instructor-led courses but lately, we’ve started to see more interactive content designed to engage and hopefully motivate learners. Now, it appears there is a new evolution of learning….Gamification!
