Step graphics work great for learners who need to master processes, workflows and procedures. In this week’s challenge, the goal was to build a step graphic to tell a story or communicate a process.
For my demo, I chose to design a simple interactive graphic to communicate the steps involved in capturing screenshots from an iPhone. To build this demo, I utilized both Storyline and Adobe Photoshop.
The entire demo consists of two slides.
One slide is used to display a Light Box; the other slide is comprised of four layers to create the animation effects and content screens.
The Light Box is a great feature that allows you to bring important content to the forefront while fading out other elements. In this example, I used the Light Box feature to show the Home and On/Off buttons on the iPhone. I also incorporated two zoom regions to provide a close-up view of those elements.
