In this week’s post, I wanted to show you one of the go to image effects I use when creating e-Learning content. In fact, it’s my submission for the e-Learning Heroes challenge #156, “Popular Image Styles and Effects for Using Stock Photos in E-Learning #156”.
The image you see above is a standard photograph of a conference room I downloaded from here. There’s nothing wrong with the image but, if I inserted an illustrated character into the scene as shown, it really doesn’t fit very well.
My solution to this dilemma is to use Photoshop’s Posterize effect on the photograph. This creates a poster-like visual effect by reducing the colors of an image to just a select few.
The effect can be accomplished in two easy steps:
- Bring the image into Photoshop
- Select Image > Adjustments > Posterize
I hope you enjoyed this simple approach to modifying a photograph for your next e-Learning course.
