Workplace violence is any act or threat of violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the worksite. According to the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), nearly 2 million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year. Workplace violence can strike anywhere at anytime; no one is immune.
In this week’s Articulate challenge, the task is to show scenario examples designed to prevent or address workplace violence. To build this challenge, I utilized the 3C model:
Using this approach, the learner is presented with a challenge. The learner makes a decision and selects from the choices provided. The choice made produces consequences. Feedback can then be provided or you can jump to another challenge.
It took about 1 hour to build this scenario using a booklet I found on the Department of Homeland Security website. Make sure your speakers are turned on before you start this one! Click the image below to begin and let me know what you think in the comments section.
Be sure to try out all of the options as well as letting the time run out and not making a decision… even indecisiveness has a cost!
Here are a few technical details behind the design:
- The demo was designed using Storyline 1
- It consists of 2 slides and 9 layers
- Sound effects were provided by FreeSFX
- Information was provided via the Department of Homeland Security website (see Resources button in player)
