A Code-Free Way to Print Storyline 360 Slides

Home » elearningMatters » A Code-Free Way to Print Storyline 360 Slides
June 16, 2023 by Richard

In this post, I’ll explain how to print slides in Storyline 360 without using JavaScript. This code-free approach was released in Storyline 360 Build 3.67.28569.0 (August 2022 update).

Storyline Printing using JavaScript

Before we delve into this incredibly useful feature crafted by the talented Articulate engineers, let’s take a moment to appreciate its immense value. Picture this: adding a trigger to a button or a Print Slide tab on your Storyline 360 player without the hassle of JavaScript.

In the past, achieving this seemingly straightforward task involved grappling with browser compatibility and unreliable outcomes. Countless users scoured Articulate forums, sharing JavaScript snippets in hopes of a working solution. Only to find that it no longer worked after you upgraded Storyline 360 or your browser. Let’s take a look at how easy it is to use the new Print trigger!

Adding Print Functionality to Storyline

Compatibility

Based on information on Articulate’s website, you should know the following:

  • The print slide trigger works with Storyline 360 (August 2022 update) or later and uses the modern player style.
  • If you have an earlier version/build of Storyline 360, you must delete the Print trigger for compatibility.
  • If you use Storyline 3, November 2022 update or later, you can open Storyline 360 files that use this trigger, but you cannot create or edit print slide triggers.
